Masters of Magic is a VR experience that was created for the HTC VIVE within a small team.
One player is using the Vive solving puzzles hands on while the other player gives instructions and solves logical puzzles. Multitasking and teamplay are fundamentally at the core of the experience. The main goal is to combine the right ingredients under time pressure to create a final potion.
Since there are hardly any multiplayer games for VR the approach was to create an immersive and transmedial experience for both players.
Besides developing the concept in the team, my responsibilies were modeling, rigging and animation of the magic crystal Crys and some of the assets in the scene as well as creating particle effects.
Team members: Eva Kaup, Michael Diener, Lars Thießen, Paul Mayer, Merve Semsar, Kate Myshalova, Julian Ferreira da Silva
The video shows the gameplay and some of the game mechanics of the VR experience.
The video shows a monologue of Crys, the magical little helper.
The animation of Crys was done by Paul Mayer. I was responsible for populating the environment, creating particle and for the animation of the material and the camera using Unreal.
